Day and Night
One full day and night in the Overworld lasts 20 minutes (24,000 game ticks).
| Cycle length | 24,000 ticks, which is 20 minutes. |
| Named times | The /time command knows four named times: day at 1,000 ticks, noon at 6,000, night at 13,000 and midnight at 18,000. |
| Sleeping | When enough players have slept, time jumps to the start of the next day. This needs the Advance time of day game rule to be on. |
| Players needed | With the Sleep percentage game rule at its default of 100, every player in the Overworld must be in bed. Each must have been in bed for 5 seconds. Spectators are not counted. |
| Stopping time | Time stands still while the Advance time of day game rule is off or after /time pause. /time rate changes how fast it runs. |
| Other dimensions | The Nether and The End have no day and night cycle. |
| Moon | The moon runs on the same clock, so skipping time also moves the moon phase on. |
