Command
/give
Puts items into the inventory of players.
| /give <targets> <item> [<count>] |
| Argument | Kind of value | What to type |
|---|---|---|
| <targets> | Target selector | The players who receive the items. One or more players. |
| <item> | Item | The item id, optionally followed by components in square brackets. |
| <count> | Whole number | How many items each player gets. Whole number, at least 1 and at most 100 stacks of the item. Defaults to 1. |
| Permission level | 2: operators, worlds with cheats on, command blocks and functions |
| Works in | Operators on multiplayer servers, singleplayer worlds with cheats enabled, and command blocks and functions. |
| Result | Reports "Gave <count> <item> to <player>" or to the number of players. The number /execute store saves is the number of players who received the items. |
| Maximum count | One command can give at most 100 full stacks of the item: 6400 for items that stack to 64, 1600 for items that stack to 16 and 100 for items that do not stack. A larger count fails with "Can't give more than ...". |
| Default count | Without a count, one item is given. |
| Full inventory | Items that do not fit into the inventory are dropped at the player's position. Only that player can pick them up, and they can be picked up right away. |
| Item components | Components can be added in square brackets directly after the item id, for example an enchantments component. |
