Exhaustion

Survival mechanic

Exhaustion

Exhaustion builds up from sprinting, swimming, jumping, breaking blocks, fighting and healing; each time it passes 4, it costs 1 saturation or, with no saturation left, 1 hunger.

Rules

CostWhen exhaustion is above 4, it drops by 4 and takes 1 saturation. With no saturation left, it takes 1 hunger instead.

Taking damageDamage from mob and player attacks, arrows and explosions adds 0.1 exhaustion. Fall damage, drowning and starvation add none.
MaximumExhaustion cannot go above 40.
PeacefulOn Peaceful, exhaustion still uses up saturation but never lowers hunger.
