Nether Portal Linking
A Nether Portal leads to the nearest existing portal within 16 blocks of the converted position in the Nether, or within 128 blocks in the Overworld.
Rules
| Range in the Nether | Exit portals are searched up to 16 blocks east-west and north-south of the converted position. |
| Range in the Overworld | Exit portals are searched up to 128 blocks east-west and north-south of the converted position. |
| Search shape | The search area is a square, not a circle, and covers every height. |
| Exit choice | The nearest portal block wins, measured in a straight line including height. If two are equally near, the lower one wins. |
| World border | Portals outside the destination's world border are ignored. |
| Facing | If the exit portal faces a different way than the entrance, the traveler is turned by 90 degrees. |
