Breaking delay
After a block breaks, mining the next block starts 0.25 seconds (5 game ticks) later, unless the block broke instantly.
Rules
| Delay after a break | With the button held down, 0.25 seconds (5 game ticks) pass before mining continues on the next block. |
| Instant breaks | In Survival, a block that breaks in a single game tick causes no delay. |
| Creative mode | In Creative every block breaks at once, with 0.25 seconds (5 game ticks) between blocks while the button is held. |
| Breaking progress | Each game tick of mining adds the block's per-tick progress, and the block breaks when the total reaches 1. Letting go of the button resets the progress to zero. |
