| /title <targets> (actionbar <title>|subtitle <title>|title <title>) |
| /title <targets> (clear|reset) |
| /title <targets> times <fadeIn> <stay> <fadeOut> |
| Argument | Kind of value | What to type |
|---|---|---|
| <targets> | Target selector | The players who see the title. Any number of players, given as a selector or a player name. One or more players. |
| <title> | Text component | The text to show, as a text component: a quoted string, a component in braces, or a list of components in square brackets. |
| <fadeIn> | Time | How long the title takes to fade in, in ticks (20 ticks = 1 second). Minimum 0. Default 10. At least 0. |
| <stay> | Time | How long the title stays fully visible, in ticks. Minimum 0. Default 70. At least 0. |
| <fadeOut> | Time | How long the title takes to fade out, in ticks. Minimum 0. Default 20. At least 0. |
| Permission level | 2: operators, worlds with cheats on, command blocks and functions |
| Works in | Server operators, players in a singleplayer or LAN world with cheats enabled, the server console, command blocks and functions. |
| Result | Reports which player, or how many players, the title action was applied to. Returns the number of players. |
| title | /title <targets> title <title> shows large text in the middle of the screen right away. |
| subtitle | /title <targets> subtitle <title> sets the smaller line under the title. It does not appear on its own: it is shown together with a title, so send the subtitle first and the title after it. |
| actionbar | /title <targets> actionbar <title> shows text just above the hotbar for 60 ticks (3 seconds). |
| times | /title <targets> times <fadeIn> <stay> <fadeOut> sets how long titles fade in, stay and fade out, in ticks. The defaults are 10, 70 and 20 ticks (0.5, 3.5 and 1 second). Each value can also carry a unit: t for ticks, s for seconds, d for in-game days. The minimum is 0. The times stay in effect for later titles. |
| clear | /title <targets> clear removes the title and subtitle from the screen. |
| reset | /title <targets> reset removes the title and subtitle and puts the times back to the defaults of 10, 70 and 20 ticks. |
| Text component form | In 26.3 the text is written as a text component such as {text:"Welcome",color:"gold",bold:true}. A plain quoted string such as "Welcome" also works. |
/title @a title {text:"Welcome",color:"gold",bold:true}Shows a bold gold Welcome in the middle of every player's screen.
/title @a subtitle {text:"Good luck",color:"gray"}Sets the gray subtitle Good luck, shown with the next title.
/title @p actionbar "Low on health"Shows Low on health above the hotbar of the nearest player.
/title @a times 10 70 20Sets titles to fade in for 10 ticks, stay for 70 ticks and fade out for 20 ticks.
/title @a times 1s 5s 1sSets titles to fade in for 1 second, stay for 5 seconds and fade out for 1 second.
/title @a clearRemoves the title from every player's screen.
/title @s resetRemoves your title and restores the default title times.
