Command
/stopsound
Stops sounds that are currently playing for the chosen players.
| /stopsound <targets> |
| /stopsound <targets> * <sound> |
| /stopsound <targets> (ambient|block|hostile|master|music|neutral|player|record|ui|voice|weather) [<sound>] |
| Argument | Kind of value | What to type |
|---|---|---|
| <targets> | Target selector | The players for whom sounds are stopped. One or more players. |
| <sound> | Id | The id of the sound to stop, for example minecraft:music.game. Without it, all sounds of the chosen category are stopped. |
| Permission level | 2: operators, worlds with cheats on, command blocks and functions |
| Works in | Singleplayer with cheats enabled, multiplayer servers, command blocks and functions. Needs permission level 2 (gamemasters): operators, players in a world with cheats enabled, command blocks and functions. |
| Result | Reports "Stopped all sounds", "Stopped all '<source>' sounds", "Stopped sound '<sound>'" or "Stopped sound '<sound>' on source '<source>'", depending on what was given. The number /execute store saves is the number of targeted players. |
| Only targets | With only the targets, every sound is stopped for those players. |
| Sound sources | The source is the sound category: master, music, record, weather, block, hostile, neutral, player, ambient, voice or ui. With a source and no sound, all sounds of that category are stopped. |
| Any source | Write * in place of the source to stop one specific sound in every category. After * a sound id is required. |
| Always succeeds | The command reports success even if the sound was not playing. |
