Loot

Loot is rolled once for every cleared encounter, when its last enemy dies: item rolls, gold, a potion charge, a gem, a rune and a treasure key, each with its own chance. Bosses also give Soul Shards, and enemies roll their own special drops on top.

When loot drops

The loot of an encounter is rolled when its last enemy dies, at that enemy's level and for the encounter's type: normal, elite, mini-boss (on a mini-boss stage) or boss.

In the Mythic Rift gold and potion charges are rolled for every encounter: 30% each in a regular encounter and 100% for the boss. Items, gems, runes, treasure keys and the Mythic Treasure Chest are rolled only for the boss encounter.

Enemy special drops are rolled once for every cleared encounter the enemy is part of, however many of it the encounter holds, and never in the Mythic Rift.

Drop chances are the game's rules for offline characters; the game server decides the loot of online characters.

Soul Shards from bosses

Every cleared boss encounter gives 1 Soul Shard per full 10 levels of the boss (at least 1), x 1.5 on Nightmare and x 2 on Inferno, rounded down: 10 on Nightmare and 14 on Inferno, where bosses are level 70, and 7 in the Mythic Rift. Mini-boss stages give none.
