Translate labels and names

Buttons, section titles, tab names and item names are not pages. They are short strings, and they all live together in one dictionary.

Open the dictionary

The dictionary would be huge as one flat list, so it is split into groups. Each is a bundle of related words with a count, listed under “Words and labels”.

1. Open Manage, then Translations.
2. Tap the language you want to work in.
3. Look under “Words and labels” for the list of groups.

Nothing breaks if a group is half done. A word without a translation shows in the wiki’s main language instead, so there are never holes.

Edit a group

A group opens as a two-column table: the original word on the left, a box for your translation on the right. It saves as you go.

1. Click a group under “Words and labels”.
2. Read the original word in the left column.
3. Type your translation in the box on the right.
4. Move down the list and fill in every word you can.
