Import and export files
Updated 2026-07-14
You do not have to type every translation inside the wiki. Take the words out as a file, translate them anywhere, and bring them back.
Download and upload
Every dataset table has a matching pair of buttons: one grabs everything still missing, the other brings it back translated. Both use the same format, so the same file works both ways.
- Open Manage, then Translations.
- Tap the language you want.
- Open a table under “Game data”.
- Click Download words to translate.
- Translate the file: a spreadsheet, a translation tool, or by hand.
- Click Upload translated words and pick your finished file.
You only ever send back the words you changed. Empty lines stay empty, and nothing else in the table is touched.
The dictionary round trip
The dictionary works the same way, one step apart. You download from a group’s own table, but you do not upload it there.
- Open a group under “Words and labels” and click Download words to translate.
- Translate the file anywhere you like.
- Go back to the Translations page and click Import JSON file.
- Pick that group’s language and choose your finished file.
Pick the wrong language and the words land in the wrong place, so check it before you import.
Official game files
This is how teams load a game’s official translations all at once, and how communities use outside translation tools and bring the finished words back in bulk.
