Create a page

Everything a reader sees is a page, and every page is made the same way: give it a name, then put blocks on it.

Make a page

  1. Open your wiki and click Manage.
  2. Click Pages, then New page.
  3. Type the title.
  4. Check the address it suggests, change it if you want, and click Create.
The title is the heading readers see; the address is where the page lives. Typing a title fills the address in for you, and you can change it before you create the page.

AddressThe part of the URL after your wiki: lower case, hyphens, no spaces. Filled in from the title as you type.
A slashMakes a section. weapons/winchester lives under weapons.

Decide the address early. It can be changed later and the page keeps a redirect, but every link you already wrote points at the old one until something updates it.

Around the editor

The page opens in the editor, which has three regions and one habit.

The editor has three regions: the blocks you can add on the left, the page itself in the middle, and the selected block's settings on the right. Everything you do is: pick a block, put it somewhere, adjust it.

The habit is that loop: pick a block, put it somewhere, adjust it. Everything else is a convenience on top of those three moves.

Saving and publishing

SaveWrites your changes. Each save is a version, so a page can be rolled back.
PreviewThe page exactly as a reader gets it, including unsaved changes, without the editor outlines and handles.

If your wiki reviews edits, your save becomes a proposal for someone to accept rather than going straight out. The editor says which will happen before you press it.
