Coastal community lot. Functions like a Park but unlocks swimming and beach-specific outdoor interactions for visiting Parafolk.

Historical landmark plaza. Functions like a Park (8 visitors, no workers) but uses a Residence-tier price multiplier instead of the public 10x, marking it as a town centerpiece.

Multi-purpose community lot for free-form gatherings, classes, and events. Has no dedicated career; it relies on ambient autonomy and visiting Parafolk.

Memorial community lot for visits and reflective autonomy. Low NPC count (3) and quiet ambience - the only lot type with an explicit memorial role.

Fitness community lot. Hosts up to 7 NPCs per visit and is the canonical training ground for the Fitness skill - treadmills, weights, and dance pads place from the Gym build catalog only.

Cultural community lot with the highest visitor density (up to 9 NPCs). Shares the Museum/Library job track and is where Parafolk display Collectibles - paintings, gems, mushrooms, and artefacts gathered from the world.

Open outdoor community lot. No opening hours, no workers, no ticket - just a public space Parafolk wander into for relaxation, socialising, and outdoor skill autonomy.

Civic and reading lot. Hosts up to 8 visitors; shares its Museum/Library career track. Houses the Writing skill autonomy and acts as the town's bureaucratic hub.

Upscale dining lot. Same restaurant ruleset as Sitting but with the highest visitor cap among food venues (8) and fancier dress and tip behaviour.

Casual food lot - cafes, snack bars, fast food. Unlocks ordering and quick-service interactions; uses a smaller kitchen footprint than the sit-down restaurant types.

Retail community lot. Edit mode opens the Shop-only build catalog (storefront signs, display shelves, cash registers, shop-only clutter). Hosts up to 5 visitors and one Retail career track.

Full-service restaurant lot. The only lot type with an explicit worker count (1-2 NPC staff) on top of its visitor cap (7). Edit mode unlocks restaurant menus, table numbers, and host-stand items.

Medical rabbit-hole workplace. Hospital and Clinic careers spawn here; the lot itself is not visitable - performance and shift outcomes are resolved invisibly behind the work interaction.

Paralives ships with 18 lot types in Early Access build 1: Residence, Park, Beach, Gym, Museum, Town Hall / Library, Community Center, Castle Plaza, Graveyard, Shop, Fast Food Restaurant, Sitting Restaurant, Fancy Restaurant, Office Workplace, Healthcare, Elementary School, High School, and Train Station. 14 are visitable lots and 4 are rabbit-hole workplaces (Office, Healthcare, Elementary School, High School).

What is the difference between a community lot and a rabbit-hole lot in Paralives?

Community lots (Park, Museum, Town Hall, Gym, Shop, Restaurants, etc.) are visitable - your Parafolk can walk inside and you can build/edit them. Rabbit-hole lots (Office Workplace, Healthcare, Elementary School, High School) are not visitable; Parafolk teleport to them at the start of a shift and reappear when work or class ends. Both lot types affect the town simulation, but only community lots let you place items from build mode.

Does each lot type have its own build catalog in Paralives?

Yes. When you edit a Shop, Cafe (Fast Food), Restaurant, or any community lot, the build mode catalog adds a lot-specific tab on top of the main catalog. Shop lots unlock 35 retail-only items (storefront signs, display shelves, cash registers); cafe lots add 24 cafe-only items; restaurants add 14 menu and table items; community lots (museums, libraries, town halls, parks, beaches, community centers) share the 27-item public catalog. Residential lots only have access to the main catalog.

How many Parafolk can visit a lot at once in Paralives?

The visitor cap varies by lot type. Museum and Beach hold the most (9 NPCs each), followed by Fancy Restaurant, Park, Town Hall, and Castle Plaza (8 each). Sitting Restaurant and Gym hold 7, Fast Food Restaurant 6, Community Center and Shop 5, Train Station 4, Graveyard 3, and Residence 2. Rabbit-hole workplaces have no visitor cap (they're not entered visually).

Which lot types come with premade lots in Paralives?

85 premade lots ship with Early Access build 1. Residential lots dominate with 42 (26 named family households like Chen, Patel, Wolf, plus 16 player templates and floor plans). Office Workplace has 11 premade rabbit-holes including the Factory, Fire Station, Lighthouse, Music Studio, Space Research Lab, and the three Technology companies. Six premade Shops include L'Armoire (clothing), Market Antiques, Pharmacy, General Store, Bloom, and Headlines.
