Mod description

Inspired by the oceanside architecture of Ireland and Greece, 218 Charlie II Avenue is a quiet retreat steps away from Melino Beach. This 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom bungalow is built on the same spot that an ancient lighthouse and cottage used to be, abadoned for generations. Every bit of the stone that could be reused was preserved: the thick walls are made from local Paralime stone, and the floorboards are crafted from timber salvaged from the Great Melino Shipwreck of 1354. The open floor plan is partitioned to make the layout feel cozy, contained, and considered. The attached lighthouse has been extensively renovated, including a brand-new roof and modern lighting. While it currently functions as a root cellar, it can be easily modified into a studio or office.

Builder's note I wanted to challenge myself and build something on that bit of cliff at the edge of the property. After three days trying to build steps going down to a lookout, i realized it might be impossible: the grass or sand (flat) part of the lot is open for building, but the rock cliff part is structural to the landscape and doesn't seem modifiable. I pivoted and built a lighthouse, because I couldnt build through the rock, but I could build into and on top of it.

If you'd like to renovate the lighthouse, I recommend Milos' Spiral Staircase mod, and reduce the thickness of the walls.

Another bit I loved about this build was the small windows placed in the walls. They weren't planned, but as soon as i had two tiny ones in the kitchen, it looked way more ocean-ish, like coral. Those tiny windows are my fave part of this build and of Paralives Build Mode in general.Thx for reading, clicking, and trying it out!
