Armor cuts physical damage by its percentage and magic resistance cuts magic damage the same way. Explosive damage meets half the armor, and true damage ignores both.

How does difficulty change an enemy?
On Casual an enemy has 80% of its Normal health and on Veteran 120%, rounded down. Vez'nan and Moloch have their own health for each difficulty. Speed, armor, magic resistance, damage, gold and lives are the same on every difficulty.
How is speed shown?
The numbers are battle speeds: every enemy moves at 1.28 times its base speed on all three difficulties. The encyclopedia calls an enemy Slow below 21, Medium from 21 and Fast from 45.
What do the armor words mean?
The encyclopedia shows armor and magic resistance as words: None 0%, Low 1-30%, Medium 31-60%, High 61-90%, Great 91-99% and Immune 100%.
How much gold does an enemy give?
The gold shown is paid when it dies. An enemy that reaches your exit still pays its gold, and you lose the lives shown on its page. Enemies raised, hatched or cloned by another enemy give no gold unless their page says otherwise.
What does a boss cost at the exit?
Every boss costs 20 lives when it reaches the exit. Other enemies cost 1 to 6.
