pretty girl

When she discovered she was pregnant, she thought the hardest part would be preparing to become a mother.

She was wrong.

A few weeks later, her grandmother passed away unexpectedly. Although they had never been particularly close, the news hit her harder than she expected. However, the real shock came during the reading of the will.

As her last wish, her grandmother left her a small house in Melino.

The decision made no sense. She had children, grandchildren, and other relatives with whom she had a much closer relationship. Even so, she was the one who received the house.

Everyone expected her to sell it.

Instead, she decided to move in.

The house seemed frozen in time. There were photographs of relatives no one had ever mentioned, locked rooms, and boxes full of old letters carefully hidden in the attic.

The more she investigated, the more questions arose.

Some names were constantly repeated in documents and photographs, but there were no records of them in the family tree. Several album pages had been torn out, and certain people seemed to have been deliberately erased from the family history.

The strangest thing was that her grandmother seemed to have been waiting for her to find it all someday.

Among her belongings was a handwritten note, addressed only to her.

It didn't explain anything.

It simply said

"If you're reading this, it means it's too late to hide the truth from you."

Now, as she prepares for the arrival of her baby and tries to build a new life in Melino, she's also trying to piece together a family history that someone worked hard to keep buried for decades.
