Sleep before you quit - waking up saves the game. And check the day: Mass, battles, resurrection and town orders each happen on one day of the week only.
Frequently asked questions
How do I expand the graveyard?
Finish Certificate, Please to unlock the first expansion, then build them in order at the graveyard's Blueprint Desk: Expand graveyard I (12 Piece of stone), Expand graveyard II (12 Polished Stone), Expand graveyard III (24 Polished Stone). Graveyard modules, unlocked in the tech tree, decide what you can build on the new ground.
Where is the pre-order Sauna and outfit?
The Sauna is just over the bridge. The costume is in the Dresser in your house - the Dresser with mirror is built after the Suit Up! technology.
Does the demo save carry over to the full game?
Yes. Lazy Bear confirmed that demo saves carry into the full game, and the Saves menu has an Import Save option.
How do I make Polished Stone?
4 Piece of stone, 1 Melted Fat and 2 Sand at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Polished Stone (Stone Polishing). The Piece of stone comes first: 2 Stone and 4 Wood wedge at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Piece of stone (The Concept of Stone).
How do I make bronze and iron ingots?
Bronze: 3 Bronze Scrap and 10 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 2 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Melting); or 3 Copper Nugget, 1 Tin and 20 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 4 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Forge). Iron: 1 Iron Ore and 1 Coal at a Smithy I or Smithy II make 1 Iron Ingot (Smithy: Hammer); or 3 Iron Ore and 30 Fuel at a Furnace II make 3 Iron Ingot (Iron Forge).
How do I unlock the church and get Faith?
Holy Moly! ends with your first ceremony and adds Wrath to the week. From then on you hold a sermon at the Church every Wrath, and sermons are what pay Faith (and coins).
How do I get zombies?
Your first two come from the Plague Doctor after Sweet Dreams. After that you raise them yourself on Envy: a corpse on the Resurrection Table, Reanimation Liquid, Faith and a collar that covers the corpse's red skulls.
Why are my zombies not working?
A zombie only follows recipes its mastery allows, so give it a better tool for that mastery. It also needs materials: build a Zombie Supply Station and assign a supplier. In the factory, stations must be linked by conveyor belts.
How do I get more zombies at once?
Keep the zombie limit ahead of your count by loading the PR Machine on Gluttony, and raise a new batch every Envy. Going over the limit gives the Excessive zombies debuff, which makes sermons pay less.
How do I upgrade stations?
Better versions of a station (a Furnace II, a Woodworking Workbench II and so on) and workbench extensions such as the Tool Rack are unlocked in the tech tree and then built like any other station. Advanced recipes need the extension on the workbench.
Can I move buildings?
There is no move tool - remove the building and place it again. Cancelling a construction site gives everything back, but removing a finished station usually refunds only half its materials (42 of 79 stations).
Is there a renewable source of stone, wood and iron?
Yes, through zombies: the Zombie Stone Quarry and Zombie Marble Quarry produce Stone and Marble, the Zombie Miner produces Iron Ore, and the Lumberjack stand produces Logs and Sticks, all without any input.
How does saving work?
The game saves when you wake up from sleeping in your bed. Go to sleep before you quit.
How do I restore energy and reduce insanity?
Eat and drink: cooked dishes restore the most energy, wine and ciders take insanity away. Sleep refills energy, and sleeping off Lack of sleep also removes 20 insanity. Your maximum energy is 100 minus your insanity.
How does fast travel work?
Activate the milestones as you pass them - there are 14 - and you can travel between any milestones you have unlocked.
What is the difference between red and white skulls?
In a grave, white skulls are what score and red skulls cancel your headstone's laurels. In a zombie it is the other way round: more red skulls make a better zombie, and each one opens a perk slot.
When can I fight battles?
Only on Sloth. Start a battle by interacting with the guard post. To win, capture all the enemy flags, and hold them until the battle ends.
How do I raise happiness?
Get happiness from Town Gratitude, trading special items, and completing town orders. Houses give Green Scrolls. Deliver them to Linda every Lust to increase citizen reputation and your maximum happiness limit.
What is graveyard quality for?
It is paid out at Mass: a successful sermon adds a fixed number of coins for every point of graveyard quality. Better headstones and fences on cleaner corpses, decorations, and a cleared graveyard all raise it.
