Mod description
What this mod adds
Decorate your Para’s home with their favourite shoes! This mod adds the base game shoes as clutter objects in the clothing category. They’re organized in 8 variant groups and will get the color swatches you create in the Paramaker.
Some shoes have distorted textures at the top part. I had to edit every mesh to close the shoes, some textures can work with that and others not so much. I'm not familiar with editing textures yet, but improvement will come!
Assets and Textures were made by Paralives. I only edited them to make them available int the build catalog.
The textures appear white? -> Installation guide
Disclaimer: Not recommended at the moment. Use only if you're willing to deal with problems. While this installation should not interfere with anything, since the last hotfix (Hotfix 0.1.3b) the game does not load mods reliably and the installation may cause other mods to disappear.
There’s currently a bug which prevents the game to look in the right folder for the textures. To fix this you need to move this mod into your local mod folder.
This installation guide is written for windows. You should be able to follow these steps for mac as well, the folder names might be different there. (Let me know if this is not the case, I’ve never used a mac)
Step 1: Locate the mod in the steam workshop folder
The easiest way to find the mod location in the steam workshop folder is to click in the mod menu on the “Show mod folder in the explorer” button. You’ll likely find your downloaded mod here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1118520\... Go one folder up to now the see the “PairsOfShoes….” folder as a whole. You will need to move this one later. Minimize the window for now, but leave it open.
Step 2: Locate your local mod folder
Using the same method, you can locate your local mod folder. At the top of your mods list you may find a nameless local mod. Click “Show mod folder in the explorer”, go one folder up, and you’ll be in your local mod folder, most likely in C:\Users\***Your user name***\AppData\LocalLow\Paralives\Paralives . Leave this window also open. Proceed with Step 3.
If you don’t have this nameless folder, proceed with Step 2.5.
Step 2.5 (Optional): Locate your local mod folder
Using the same method as in step 1, you can locate your local mod folder. If you don’t already have a local mod in your list, you can create a new one. All mods you create will be saved in the local mod folder. The name doesn’t matter, but you should be able to identify it amongst all the mods you may have installed. Click “Show mod folder in the explorer” on your created mod, go one folder up, and you’ll be in your local mod folder, most likely in C:\Users\***Your user name***\AppData\LocalLow\Paralives\Paralives . Leave this window also open.
After the installation you can leave this created mod enabled, disabled or delete it, whatever you prefer.
Step 3: Exit the game and move the mod
Exit the game (!) and move the mod from the workshop folder to the local mod folder.
After the next restart the items may appear still white. Restart the game a second time and now the items should appear with their textures and be recolorable.
Let me know about issues!
How to uninstall
Unsubscribe the mod in steam and delete the mod in the local mod folder.
