Create a page

Updated 2026-08-13

Everything a reader sees is a page, and every page is made the same way: give it a name, then put blocks on it.

Make a page

  1. Open your wiki and click Manage.
  2. Click Pages, then New page.
  3. Type the title.
  4. Check the address it suggests, change it if you want, and click Create.
The title is the heading readers see; the address is where the page lives. Typing a title fills the address in for you, and you can change it before you create the page.
TitleThe heading readers see, and what search results show.
AddressThe part of the URL after your wiki: lower case, hyphens, no spaces. Filled in from the title as you type.
A slashMakes a section. weapons/winchester lives under weapons.

Decide the address early. It can be changed later and the page keeps a redirect, but every link you already wrote points at the old one until something updates it.

Around the editor

The page opens in the editor, which has three regions and one habit.

The editor has three regions: the blocks you can add on the left, the page itself in the middle, and the selected block's settings on the right. Everything you do is: pick a block, put it somewhere, adjust it.
Left: blocks you can addHeadings, text, pictures, boxes, tables, and whatever your extensions contribute.
Middle: the pageNot a preview. The page, at a reader's width, with your wiki's own fonts and colours.
Right: the selected blockClick any block and its settings appear. See Properties.

The habit is that loop: pick a block, put it somewhere, adjust it. Everything else is a convenience on top of those three moves.

Reuse a page with another dataset

  1. Open the page you want to reuse and choose Duplicate. Give the copy a new address.
  2. Open the copy's editor, then View to Page bases and data.
  3. Choose Current page, another dataset, select the source and target datasets, and match each field. Suggested matches use the same key and a compatible type.
  4. Read the review steps, then click Apply to editor. Check the preview, update Linked data to an entry from the target dataset, and save when ready.

A duplicate is an independent draft, including the shared design around its content. Keeping the linked entry in the duplicate dialog preserves the original preview until you choose a new entry.

For a new page, the same dialog offers Dataset overview with searchable entry cards and Dataset detail with a field-driven infobox. You can also copy an existing shared layout into an independent page. Applying a base replaces this editor's design and variables after confirmation; Undo restores the previous document.

Field mappings update structured data references. Formulas, Lua scripts, field templates, saved filter values and fixed row keys need the review steps shown in the dialog. Their source stays intact, so check them in Properties, Variables & Scripts and Linked data before saving.

Saving and publishing

SaveWrites your changes. Each save is a version, so a page can be rolled back.
PreviewThe page exactly as a reader gets it, including unsaved changes, without the editor outlines and handles.

If your wiki reviews edits, your save becomes a proposal for someone to accept rather than going straight out. The editor says which will happen before you press it.

What to do next

For a hundred alikeDo not make them one at a time. Put the facts in a table, then give them one layout.
