Tropeognathus

Flyer

Overview

The Tropeognathus is a carnivorous flyer. It is tamed passively by feeding it while mounted or on foot. This dino excels at aerial transport of small creatures and can carry survivors over cliffs and oceans with ease.

It can airlift smaller creatures such as Bloated Revenant, Bulbdog, Bunny Dodo, or Cat in its talons for rapid deployment across vast distances.

Spawn Locations

Tropeognathus does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.

The Tropeognathus is passively tamed by feeding it without knocking it out. The best food is Exceptional Kibble, which tames it fastest. Raw Mutton also works well if kibble is unavailable.

You can immobilize it with a Bola, Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to prevent escape. Taming takes about 73 minutes with 7 units of Exceptional Kibble at level 150. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

The Tropeognathus has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, meaning it takes significantly more damage from such sources. It is highly resistant to Mining Drill Harvest, taking -100% damage. Melee attacks with ProjectileImpactFX deal 50% less damage, making certain weapons less effective. Level Health and Melee Damage.
