Overview

The Cat is a small carnivore tamed as a shoulder pet. It can be carried by larger flying or aquatic creatures for fast transport across the map. This makes it useful for players who want a companion without sacrificing inventory space or mobility.

It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, Griffin, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Tropeognathus, Kaprosuchus, Procoptodon, Pteranodon, Quetzal, Tapejara, or Tusoteuthis to keep it safe while traveling.

Spawn Locations

20 maps

Cats spawn in caves and grasslands across 20 ARK maps. They are considered uncommon, so sightings are infrequent. Check the spawn map for green zones, which indicate higher spawn density.

Cats are tamed passively by feeding them. The best food is Raw Mutton, which provides the fastest taming. Raw Prime Fish Meat also works well.

Taming takes about 1 minute with Raw Mutton at level 150 on official settings. No narcotics are needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.
