Cosmo
Cosmo is a land-based carnivore in ARK: Survival Ascended, earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Tamed via passive taming (Plant Species Z Seed is the optimal food), this carnivore enters service with 100% base Melee Damage, giving it decent hitting power. Breeding pairs lay fertilized eggs requiring 4°C–12°C incubation, after which juveniles reach adulthood over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. Once tamed it harvests Hide, Raw Meat more efficiently than most player tools. Players target Cosmo once they need a reliable workhorse beyond the starter mounts.
Found across 15 maps in forests, swamps, and mountain regions. Green zones have the highest spawn density. Each species has a population cap per area, so wiping out other creatures nearby can trigger new Cosmo spawns.

The Cosmo's corpse can be harvested for Hide, Raw Meat. The corpse has 50 harvest health, allowing multiple hits before it's fully depleted.
Consult the harvest breakdown table to optimize your tool choice. Resource quantities depend on the tool used, the creature's harvest health, and your server's harvest rate.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
Incoming damage to the Cosmo is modified by 14 different type-specific multipliers. It shrugs off 8 damage types but is weak to 5, with its worst vulnerability at +120%. Focus damage there for maximum efficiency. See the full breakdown in the table below. Values under 100% indicate resistance, above 100% indicate weakness.
