What this mod adds
My Shotgun Shack, furnished and decorated for a pair of empty nesters.
This shotgun house has always been a bit of a low-class abode. A simple house built for a simple purpose, nothing more. But, while many of these meager structures have become hovels, there is a bit of spirit in this one. A couple has made it their home for a long time, always decorated it for the holidays, and often can be seen waving from the front porch. Despite living below the poverty line, and the incomparable hardships they've surely faced, the couple who lives here - like their little house - seem nice. And what more is there to it than that?
Nothing remotely fancy here, just like the original build of this house. I've kept this a very budget-conscious, low-end lot, reflecting a life lived impoverished in a house built for minimum wage laborers. But I was inspired to do something for the older parafolk, leaning into the age of the house and those dated renovations, and have attempted to communicate this by way of making the smaller bedroom into a nursery-turned-storage room mostly populated by seasonal decor. Did I win?
About $20,000. One (very red) bedroom (or two if you clear out the storage room), one (markedly blue) bathroom. Also lots of holiday decorations. And despair. But charming despair! Mostly brought about thanks to the mods used for some choice clutter, which are listed as requirements. Grandma knows how to use that thing!
