What this mod adds
A furnished and considerably more cluttered take on my "Homie's Crib" brownstone, based on the first safehouse unlocked in Saints Row (2006).
There is no better way to describe this dilapidated brownstone apartment building than "a flophouse." What was once a respectable, if modest, set of apartments for working-class families has become a sorry hovel for rejects, outcasts, losers, and the homeless. Trash lines its stairwell, graffiti stains its sides, and noxious scents waft through its unventilated air. The rear three apartments are squalid spaces hardly fit for habitation, especially the abandoned topmost where somebody's obviously squatting. The front three apartments aren't much better, with one tenant attempting to cling to some semblance of normalcy sandwiched between a pair of hangouts for guys who all wear purple. It'd be a shame if this once-charming brownstone were to be razed, but what other option is there than a total teardown?
I had to return to this tribute to Saints Row in my ongoing furnishing pass. Almost 20 years ago was I first charmed by the all-too-familiar Stilwater, such a decrepit post-industrial shell of a city, and its glimpses of a world I'd grown up in. No, I wasn't a gangster, nor did I drive parking enforcement carts wildly down sidewalks in life, but Saints Row spoke to me much more than Grand Theft Auto, with its big city settings. And though so many greater "cribs" might be unlocked in the original Saints Row, I always have been nostalgic for that beat-down brownstone that serves as the player character's first home. No telling how many times I tore out of there in a Slingshot, Ant, or Jackrabbit!
About $170,000, mostly due to the dufflebag full of cash in the front ground floor apartment. Six apartments, each with one bathroom. Most apartments have one bed, but the front topmost has three and the rear topmost has none. Plenty of mods were used in this one, for furniture and clutter, so those're listed as required. Also I discovered that, for some reason, most items had sunk about an inch into the floors between exporting and importing the original unfurnished build, so I tried to fix that but I surely missed some items. Sorry!
