I revamped the Patel household! Many years have passed since the loss of their son, and the family has begun a new chapter and became parents again! The dirty, cluttered space got a complete makeover: old furniture, trash and Christmas decor out, mid-century modern furniture in. Layered textures throughout, warm wood tones and bright colors for a new start in life. The layout has mainly remained the same with a few adjustments and little extensions like the mudroom to create a proper entry foyer as well as a better bathroom layout to allow space for a shower and bathtub. By carving out areas of the bedrooms I was able to create a dedicated office nook with desk and shelves as well as vestibules for the bedrooms and a separate laundry closet. By adding two decks off the dining room and kitchen the Patels can now enjoy their cleaned out front and backyards. Also the forgotten, garbage-filled side yard is now a lush lanai. Whitewashed decking, latticework, rattan seating, hanging ferns and layers of greenery turned a neglected passage into a beautiful outdoor room.
