Passive taming is the method for the Tidepup: get close without aggroing it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. There's a ~10-second cooldown between feedings, so patience is essential.

The Tidepup, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps.
With 100 base Stamina, the Tidepup has low stamina reserves. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Tidepup has decent hitting power. Starting at 100 Health, it's extremely fragile. Weight capacity starts at 150, giving it a reasonable inventory size.
The Tidepup is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Regular Kibble.
Once tamed, the Tidepup is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between -75°C and 75°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.5 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
