Overview
The Achatina is a small herbivore farmed for its exceptional weight-reducing properties. It provides a -90% weight reduction for Achatina Paste, Organic Polymer, and Sweet Vegetable Cake. This makes it essential for long-haul resource transport, especially when paired with flyers like Argentavis or Quetzal.
It can be carried by several large creatures, enabling fast aerial deployment across vast distances.
Spawn Locations
22 mapsAchatina spawns uncommonly across 21 ARK maps. It appears in diverse biomes including caves, deserts, forests, mountains, swamps, snow zones, oases, redwood groves, and cities. Look for them in moist, shaded areas near vegetation.

Achatina must be knocked out before taming. The only effective food is Sweet Vegetable Cake. It takes about 15 of these to tame, with a taming time of roughly 33 minutes and requires 8 Narcotics. Use a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to immobilize it. Apply Tranq Arrows from a Crossbow or Tranquilizer Darts from a Longneck Rifle for sedation. Use the calculator below for your settings.
