Achatina Egg & Breeding Calculator

Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.

After hatching or birth, the baby Achatina matures over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment, reaching adulthood in about 3 days and 20 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

37:02:13
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent

46:17:46
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

The Achatina's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Achatina gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Planning a mass raise? The Achatina raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~556 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

Raising multiple Achatina simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Achatina is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Farmer category.

Starting at 75 Health, it's very frail. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Achatina brings solid damage output to the table. With 100 base Stamina, the Achatina has low stamina reserves. A base Weight of 60 means not built for hauling.

You'll need to knock the Achatina unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Feed it Sweet Vegetable Cake for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

After taming, the Achatina is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.69 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
