The microwave above the stove works in my save, but it does make the animation weird since the game expects it to be on the counter. If you have issues make sure the shelf is placed manually on the wall and that the microwave is manually placed on the shelf. The transform tool seems to make it stop functioning. Also make sure the range hood isn't clipping into the shelf because that also seemed to make it stop functioning.
