Millennial Home Makeover: Lian

Schmoozer Lian Reed got himself a PT gig at the local gym purely so that he could creep on everybody doing squats, and occasionally test out the PUA BS his beloved podcasters yelled at him in that cocaine-cadence. It was briefly effective on his coworkers, Jason, Zane and Maria. But once they had worked with him a little longer, and compared notes with each other, they each caught on to his pathetic game, and ghosted (icing him out at work). It ALMOST made Jason want to be faithful to his fiancée, but not quite. Lian was unfased. He thinks too highly of himself to even acknowledge that others couldn't see his greatness. Besides, other people are tools, a means to an end, not thinking feeling human beings with experiences and opinions, right?... Many of the clients Lian brought home at lunch break were put off by his dudebro home aesthetic, and the stench of gym, feet, and balls, emanating from his furniture and walls. It was NOT in fact "powerful pheremones", it was revolting. Instead of growing up / cleaning up / getting a grip, Lian realised that he would "get more hole" by adopting a more performative approach... He put on his best 'mask', and acted like a normal nice person for long enough that a partner agreed to move in with him. Sensitive, a painter, a musician. "Finally," he thought, "A piece of human furniture to do unpaid labour for me, and sex on tap!" He agreed to get a dog with them, for future-faking purposes, and walking a cute dog is great bait for collecting side-pieces. His partner didn't have much in the way of money, but they worked hard to save up and spend it all on doing up "their" place "together". Lian wasn't keen on some of his partner's interior design choices (in the partner's defence, it's hard for anybody to think their best / most creative thoughts, while they're in survival mode in a 'plausibly deniable' abusive relationship - it started out very dark and clean-rustic, to please Lian, but they ended up needing to add more and more 'happy colours' JUST for the SCRAPS of serotonin), but Lian was happy to not have to spend any of his own money or effort or mental load to make HIS place appear more welcoming and 'safe' for his... other visitors. Lian's partner will eventually walk in on him with somebody(s) in their bed. This is NOT plausibly deniable, and they will leave safely, and will move on to experience a more fulfilling life than this pathetic little-boy poser goofy loser could ever dream of. Lian will reflexively accuse them of being a golddigger, and many people will eat it up, despite the facts of the matter. But, anyone with a braincell and no vested interest in the perpetuation of this narrative, knows what's up. In Jennifer Coolidge spirit, they're "taking the dog, dumbass".
