First-sight love. A gym manager and a book-loving loft dweller. What started as a next-door romance quickly became a commitment, with Zane moving into Maggie's iconic loft. But now that the couple is thinking about having a child and building a proper family home, Maggie's once-perfect loft apartment simply isn't enough anymore. So what does any sensible couple do? Buy the entire building!! With Zane's support, Maggie purchased the previously vacant ground floor and the long-neglected attic unit, making the entire building theirs. But the old, dilapidated access and awkward stairways had to go. Instead, the circulation was completely reworked into a long L-shaped extension, running towards the rear of the original footprint. And what was created in the middle? A garden courtyard. Or a backyard. Or an outdoor living room.
