Unlike knockout tames, the Onyc must be fed by hand while conscious. Approach slowly and avoid sudden movements. There's a ~14-second cooldown between feedings, so patience is essential.

Use the feeding timer to know when the Onyc will accept its next meal. No more guessing between feeds.
The Onyc, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is well-known across multiple maps. It falls within the Flyer classification.
The Onyc has 250 base Health - relatively fragile. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Onyc has solid damage output. With 100 base Stamina, the Onyc has tires quickly. A base Weight of 50 means not built for hauling.
This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. Its preferred food is Raw Mutton.
As a tame, the Onyc earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. A wild Onyc is worth 3 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.02 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
