Overview

Onyc is a small flying carnivore found across multiple biomes. It is tamed passively by feeding it, making it accessible without the need for knockouts or traps. The creature is primarily used for fast aerial transport and scouting due to its flyer capability and compact size. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for rapid deployment across long distances.

Onyc spawns in caves, dark zones, deserts, jungles, mountains, oases, and volcanoes. It is very common and appears on 20 ARK maps. Players can find them with moderate ease across varied terrain, with higher concentrations in volcanic and jungle regions.

Taming an Onyc is done passively by feeding it. The best food is Raw Mutton, which provides the highest affinity gain. Raw Prime Meat also works well if Raw Mutton is unavailable. The process takes about 5 minutes and requires no narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.
