Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 4 hours at default rates.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 4 hours (1x rate), progressing over a lengthy period. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~168 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~11h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~14h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Onyc (Gamma) gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

In ARK: Survival Ascended, the Onyc (Gamma) is a boss-tier enemy encountered during an arena battle. It falls within the Boss classification.

Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Onyc (Gamma) brings solid damage output to the table. Starting at 250 Health, it's on the squishy side. Its base Stamina of 100 gives it limited endurance. Weight capacity starts at 50, giving it very limited carrying capacity.

As a tame, the Onyc (Gamma) is a powerful boss creature encountered in a dedicated arena fight. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. A wild Onyc (Gamma) is worth 3 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.02 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
