Each hit on a node generates resource drops. The game randomly picks a resource from the loot table for each drop. Higher melee depletes the node faster, which can reduce total drops. The "best" melee is where you get the most drops.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Mesopithecus is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Shoulder Pet group.

Stamina sits at 100 base, providing tires quickly. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Mesopithecus brings respectable melee power to the table. Starting at 115 Health, it's very frail. It carries 70 base Weight - very limited carrying capacity.

The Mesopithecus is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Basic Kibble.

Once tamed, the Mesopithecus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0 Element per level.
