Equus
In ARK: Survival Ascended, Equus occupies the harvester niche - is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It is a herbivore tamed through passive taming, with Rockarrot as its top-tier food, and brings 560 base Stamina with solid stamina reserves to the table. It gives live birth after a gestation period, with offspring maturing over a lengthy period. Once tamed it harvests Hide, Raw Meat, Pelt more efficiently than most player tools. Players target Equus once they need a reliable workhorse beyond the starter mounts.
Found across 22 maps in beaches, grasslands, and river areas. Green zones have the highest spawn density. Each species has a population cap per area, so wiping out other creatures nearby can trigger new Equus spawns.

Official servers use non-1× defaults; the values above already reflect official rates.
Harvesting a dead Equus yields Hide, Raw Meat, Pelt. The corpse has 320 harvest health, allowing multiple hits before it's fully depleted.
Consult the harvest breakdown table to optimize your tool choice. Resource quantities depend on the tool used, the creature's harvest health, and your server's harvest rate.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Equus's damage profile includes 13 modifiers that alter how much damage it takes from different sources. With 7 resistances and 6 weaknesses, its biggest vulnerability takes +120% extra damage - exploit that for faster kills. See the full breakdown in the table below. Values under 100% indicate resistance, above 100% indicate weakness.
