The Compy spawns on 19 maps, typically found in forests, swamps, and mountain regions. Green cells indicate high spawn density, red means low. Click a cell to see exact spawn chance. If you can't find any, try clearing creatures nearby to free up the population cap.
The Compy is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Shoulder Pet classification.
With 100 base Stamina, the Compy has low stamina reserves. Melee starts at 100% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. The Compy has 50 base Health - glass-cannon fragile. A base Weight of 25 means minimal inventory space.
The Compy is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Raw Mutton is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Compy is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 24°C–32°C temperature window. Killing a wild Compy yields 0.5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.07 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
