Cat Egg & Breeding Calculator

Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes at default rates.

After hatching or birth, the baby Cat matures requiring significant patience, reaching adulthood in about 1 day and 6 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

6:10:22
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent

7:42:57
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~185 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~12h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~15h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Cat gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Cat babies through all three growth stages. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~185 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Cat raises by totaling food across all babies. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Cat is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Shoulder Pet group.

With 100 base Stamina, the Cat has limited endurance. Melee starts at 100% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. At 125 base HP, the Cat is very frail. A base Weight of 60 means not built for hauling.

Taming the Cat doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Raw Mutton.

After taming, the Cat is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0 Element per level.
