A rendition of my Roadside Motel, the American Sunset, partially inhabited by disparate tenants with nowhere else to go.
Like so many historic motels, the American Sunset is on its last legs. Overshadowed by newer, bigger, and cleaner chain hotels, undermined by its meager accommodations and lack of privacy, this motel only rarely attracts long-distance travelers as intended. These days, the few tenants who do rent rooms at the American Sunset generally aren't on their way elsewhere, or anywhere. Nobody calls the motel home unless they absolutely have to, for whatever reason, no questions asked. Today, those unlucky few are a broke musician, a hopeful ne'er-do-well, an elderly long-time renter, a single parent and their baby, and, of course, the new owner-operator. With nowhere else to go, all followed their own roads to meet at the Sunset.
Sorry if you hoped for a fully-cluttered motel, but with 36 rooms... Yeah, I limited myself to 5. Each has a story, though! Inspiration for paras you might make to live in those rooms, y'know? And plenty of empty rooms for your own creativity to fill. Each pre-decorated room also represents a different challenge, I think, from the "easiest" with its mini-fridge to the "hardest" with the baby crib, but none are sufficiently appointed for a normal life. Only two mods were used for clutter items, so those are listed as required, though I also used a mod to place some "hidden" basegame items around the motel... so I don't know if that mod is actually required, but it's linked for good measure.
Over $200,000. 36 rooms, 5 decorated as-though lived-in. There are 37 toilets, because the employees also get one, obviously. I recommend finding car mods you like to populate the parking lot - however you configure it - but down-on-their-luck or budget-conscious paras might not be able to afford cars, anyway. Whatever you do at the motel, be sure to enjoy the Sunset!
