Searches your stock, counter, display case and trash can for contraband and stolen goods; stolen goods are found only by chance, and locked or hidden goods are not found. Critical-Level Contraband means arrest, High-Level Contraband a fine, Mid-Level Contraband or stolen goods are taken, Low-Level Contraband brings a warning, and a clean inspection gives +3 Security reputation.
Every 3 to 5 days once your trafficking crimes reach 50, down to every 1 to 2 days at 750 or more (not with the VIP perk).
On any day your display case holds serious contraband or stolen goods.
As a wanted visitor posing as an inspector, and once as Lou in disguise.
On each scheduled inspection the Security Inspector, Shady Security Inspector and Lazy Security Inspector are equally likely (1 in 3 each) while your Bribery of Security Personnel record is under 500; from 500 only the Security Inspector comes. Never Shady or Lazy with the No Stone Unturned perk. Inspections set off by goods on the counter or in the display case are always the Security Inspector.
