Bell rules
| Rule | What the game does |
|---|---|
| Activation | Touching a Bell for the first time activates it. Each touch makes it the place you revive at and the place the game saves. |
| Map | An area's map opens once any Bell in it is active; each Bell reveals its own sections of the map. |
| Traverse | Traverse and The Realm of Mirage are offered only once two or more Bells are active, and not at Bells that block traversal. |
| Last chapter | During part of the last chapter every Bell refuses Traverse until the story lifts the lock or the ending reaches the Realm of Mirage. |
| 66 Days | On 66 Days, Save at a Bell writes straight to the run's own save slot. Resting at a Bell does not change the day count, but on 66 Days the first touch of Lóng Pillar Overlook, The Axemaster's Fall, Crimson Forest, Thieves' Camp, The Lady Grounds, Puppet Testing Grounds and Myst's Tavern costs one day each, and so do the story scenes at Place of Awakening, Hidden Storehouse and Mountain God Temple. Difficulties lists every event that costs a day. |
