A Desmodus tames on blood, not food. Let it grab something carrying Blood Packs and leave it to drain without interruption. That can be you or a teammate, but a high-health creature loaded with packs is easier and safer, because it drinks the packs instead of the health. It needs the same stretch of uninterrupted draining at every level, and it opens well short of full effectiveness however cleanly you play, so a perfect attempt still lands around 57 per cent.

- Give the survivor being carried a stack of Blood Packs and it drinks those instead of their health. That finishes in about 38 seconds instead of the full drain and the survivor takes no damage at all. Budget around 39 packs for a wild one, more if it has been eating well.
- The progress it gains is a share of what it needs, so the level cancels out. Every Desmodus takes the same 2:40 of uninterrupted draining.
- It opens at 57.1% effectiveness rather than 100%, so even a flawless tame lands well short of a perfect one.
