You don't really need a saddle if you have Argentavis, just carry with it and it automatically gather metals.
Interestingly, Ankylo CAN gather more crystal and obsidian than your pick, but only if you manually ride it.

The Ankylosaurus, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It falls within the Farmer classification.
With 700 base Health, the Ankylosaurus is impressively tough. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Ankylosaurus brings respectable melee power to the table. Stamina sits at 175 base, providing decent staying power. It carries 250 base Weight - generous inventory space.
Taming the Ankylosaurus requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Ankylosaurus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 16°C and 20°C. Killing a wild Ankylosaurus yields 6 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.93 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
