Dangerous matchup
Ranged uses Dexterity and Point protection. Melee uses Strength and the selected Edge, Blunt or Point channel.
The baseline estimate is weapon damage plus attribute minus matching protection, with a minimum connecting hit of 1. Separate combat assumptions are double net damage for a charged heavy strike, about 25% more for a fully drawn bow, 1 for a blocked swing, and variation between swings in an attack chain.
Difficulty scales the example health, attributes and protection. The result describes the assumed values, not an individual enemy.
