X-Tapejara Taming Calculator
Taming the X-Tapejara requires applying enough torpor to knock it out. Use tranquilizer projectiles, then place food in its inventory. Once unconscious, Torpor drains at 0.1/s, so keep Narcotics or Bio Toxin ready.

Required Narcotics
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the X-Tapejara sedated throughout taming. Bio Toxin is twice as potent as Narcotics (80 vs 40 Torpor per use), while Narcoberries work in a pinch at just 7.5 Torpor each. With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.

The X-Tapejara, a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It belongs to the Variant category.
The X-Tapejara has 315 base Health - reasonably durable. Dealing 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Tapejara brings respectable melee power to the table. With 250 base Stamina, the X-Tapejara has average stamina. It carries 280 base Weight - generous inventory space.
You'll need to knock the X-Tapejara unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the X-Tapejara works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 29°C and 32°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.67 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
