X-Megalodon Egg & Breeding Calculator

Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 6 hours and 9 minutes at default rates.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~2 days and 23 hours (1x rate), progressing slowly. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The X-Megalodon's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~427 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~28h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~36h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the X-Megalodon gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the X-Megalodon is a tamable, aquatic, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.

With 320 base Stamina, the X-Megalodon has average stamina. With 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Megalodon has respectable melee power. At 582 base HP, the X-Megalodon is decently sturdy. Weight capacity starts at 250, giving it generous inventory space.

Taming the X-Megalodon requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Superior Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.

As a tame, the X-Megalodon provides safe and efficient underwater traversal with good utility. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild X-Megalodon yields 12 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.37 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
