X-Megalodon Taming Calculator
Taming the X-Megalodon requires applying enough torpor to knock it out. Use tranquilizer projectiles, then place food in its inventory. Torpor bleeds at 0.1/s, requiring regular sedative application to prevent a premature wakeup.

Required Narcotics
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the X-Megalodon sedated throughout taming. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. The X-Megalodon bleeds 0.1 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.
Starve & Torpor Timers
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
Found throughout the ARKs, the X-Megalodon is a tamable, aquatic, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.
With 320 base Stamina, the X-Megalodon has average stamina. With 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Megalodon has respectable melee power. At 582 base HP, the X-Megalodon is decently sturdy. Weight capacity starts at 250, giving it generous inventory space.
Taming the X-Megalodon requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Superior Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
As a tame, the X-Megalodon provides safe and efficient underwater traversal with good utility. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild X-Megalodon yields 12 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.37 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
