Ignore
The Turkey is a small herbivore primarily used for resource gathering while ridden. It excels at harvesting a wide variety of plant-based resources with high efficiency. This makes it useful for early-game survival when players need a steady supply of Berries, Seeds, and Fiber. It can be immobilized with a Bola or Bear Trap during taming attempts.
It does not carry other creatures nor can it be carried by any mount.
Turkey does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Tame the Turkey using knockout methods. The best food is Archelon Algae, which provides the fastest taming effectiveness. Mejoberry also works well if Archelon Algae is unavailable. Use a Bow or Crossbow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it efficiently.
It can be immobilized with a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y. About 6 Archelon Algae are needed. The taming process takes around 2 minutes at level 224 with no Narcotics required. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Turkey yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favors Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Turkey gathers multiple resources with its melee attack. It harvests Berries, Crop Seeds, Mushrooms, Rare Flowers, Rare Mushrooms, Wood, Cactus Sap, and Fiber. Each of these resources is gathered at 10× efficiency, making it highly effective. Notable gathers include Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, and their seeds. It also gathers Plant Species X Seed and Plant Species Y Seed at 10×.
The Turkey has a strong vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% damage. It is also weak to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino and Explosion, taking +55% and +50% damage respectively. Spike walls are 50% less effective due to resistance. Avoid using spike walls in defense; use Explosives or metal melee attackers instead.
