Troodon Overview
Survivors looking at Troodon in ARK: Survival Ascended will find a land-based carnivore that earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It is a carnivore tamed through a special taming method, and brings 100% base Melee Damage, giving it respectable melee power to the table. Breeding pairs lay fertilized eggs requiring 28°C–32°C incubation, after which juveniles reach adulthood at a medium pace. Once tamed it harvests Hide, Raw Meat more efficiently than most player tools. Players target Troodon once they need a reliable workhorse beyond the starter mounts.

21 mapsFound across 21 maps in forests, swamps, and mountain regions. Green zones have the highest spawn density. Each species has a population cap per area, so wiping out other creatures nearby can trigger new Troodon spawns.

Taming
To tame a Troodon, allow it to prey upon your tamed creatures.The taming effectiveness correlates with the XP the Troodon gains from each kill.Higher - level creatures, due to their increased XP yield, make for more efficient tames.Regardless of age, babiesand adults yield identical XP.To ensure your offerings don’t harm the Troodon, consider tranquilizing or weakening them prior to the Troodon’s attack.However, setting them to passive isn’t an option. Note that traditional taming multipliers seem ineffective with Troodons.

Drops & Harvest Resources
You can gather Hide, Raw Meat from a Troodon corpse. The corpse has 50 harvest health, allowing multiple hits before it's fully depleted.
