Variant
The Tek Rex is a powerful carnivorous variant of the Lightning-Infused Rex. It possesses the ability to stun enemies with its roar, making it a potent combat mount. It can be airlifted by Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across vast distances.
Players typically tame the Tek Rex for its high damage output and battlefield control through stuns.
Tek Rex does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
The Tek Rex must be knocked out before taming. Use Chain Bola or traps like Bear Trap and Large Bear Trap to immobilize it. Target it with Tranq Arrows from a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow, or use Fabricated Sniper Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts.
Feed it Exceptional Kibble for the fastest taming. About 17 pieces are needed. The process takes around 58 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Tek Rex yields Tyrannosaurus Arm, Rex Bone Helmet, Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust. The Pick is the best tool for harvesting all resources from its corpse.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Tek Rex takes +400% more damage from spike walls, making them extremely effective for defense. It is highly vulnerable to explosions and melee attacks from metal weapons. Conversely, it takes -50% damage from piercing projectiles and small turrets, reducing incoming ranged damage significantly.

The Roar ability stuns enemies within a 75-degree cone up to 35 meters away. Stun effect lasts 4 seconds and has a 60-second cooldown.
After using Roar, the Tek Rex enters a 360-second cooldown lockout period, preventing reuse.
It takes +400% more damage from spike walls, so avoid placing it near such defenses.
The Roar ability has a weight limit of 200; heavier creatures are immune to the stun.
