Variant
The R-Dilophosaur is a carnivorous variant creature from Genesis: Part 2. It features increased melee damage but slightly reduced health compared to the base Dilophosaur. This dino is primarily used for combat and structure destruction due to its high damage output and ability to be carried by flyers. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, or Karkinos for fast deployment behind enemy lines.
R-Dilophosaur does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
The R-Dilophosaur must be knocked out before taming. Use a Bola or Bear Trap to immobilize it, then apply tranquilizing darts or arrows from a Crossbow or Longneck Rifle. Basic Kibble is the best food for taming. Raw Mutton also works well. The process takes around 3 minutes at level 150 using kibble. No narcotics are needed. Killing an R-Dilophosaur yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat harvest.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The R-Dilophosaur takes +120% more damage from dino attacks, making it highly vulnerable in combat. It has -100% damage taken from mining drills, rendering them ineffective. It also takes +55% more damage from metal melee attacks. Level Health and Melee Damage to maximize its offensive role.

The R-Dilophosaur takes +120% more damage from dino attacks, so avoid prolonged fights with other dinos. It is highly vulnerable to explosion-based defenses due to +50% damage taken. Its melee damage is 5% higher than the base Dilophosaur. It can be carried by Tapejara or Procoptodon for quick deployment. Immobilize it with a Bola before beginning the knockout process. It resists damage from spike walls by 50%, making those less effective against it.
